Independence Day was a rousing success this year. On July 3rd we went to Eagle Mountain golf course to watch the firework show. It was great! We had really good seats, too, right in front of the pond. Cameron was really nervous about the fireworks at first. Well, okay, he was terrified. But after a few minutes he calmed down and started to enjoy them, and imitated the BOOM sound, followed by the SWIIIISSSHHH of the firecrackers. It was pretty funny listening to him. The fireworks themselves were great, possibly one of the best shows I have seen in a long time.
The next day, July 4th, we took Cameron to see Wall-E. Craig and I LOVED it. I would go so far as to say it is one of Pixar's best! Cameron liked some parts, but he grew restless sitting in the theater. He is used to being able to run around and act out all the parts while watching movies. In the evening, Melanie and Mathis invited us to spend time with them and their extended family. It was Mathis's grandpa's birthday:-) We had a fun b-b-que, with fresh homemade ice cream for dessert. Yum! Cameron and Aubrey had a lot of fun chasing each other around the year. Aubrey kept tackling Cameron, and there was nothing he could do about it because he couldn't run away because his pants kept falling down! Actually, he thought it was so funny that his pants kept falling down, and would run around the yard until they did. What a nut! LOL
Later we did some of the little fireworks. They lit off a lot of smoke bombs. The sulfur triggered a major migraine that lasted a couple of days. Bleh. Cameron LOVED the snaps, those tiny paper tissues filled with gun powder that you throw on the ground to make them snap. He wanted to do them again and again! He also enjoyed the sparklers, and pretended they were magic wands (like Harry Potter, of course). All was fun and games until he put his hand in the wrong place. His sparkler had just burned out, and he tried switching it to the other hand, but grabbed it a little too high. He was pretty badly burned, with two angry blisters on his hand. I wanted to cry, too whenever I looked at him. I could tell he was in a lot of pain. The sad part is that we were RIGHT THERE! Craig was hovering over him the whole time, but it happened so fast we couldn't even stop it.
Well, aside from that one incident, it was a very nice holiday. We really enjoyed spending time together as a family, and with other family members as well. We are so busy these days that time together is a rare and valued treat:-)

Sarah the pants story is so funny. I am glad you had such a good 4th!
I love the pics of your darling little boy on the 4th! The sparkler one is a personal favorite. I can't wait until Kylan can do all that fun stuff! This year he was in bed before it even got dark... But then, there's the picture of the burned hand... maybe I can wait.
